BMW Mishap in Indira Nagar, Driver Held


A senior corporate executive of a liquor company, under influence of alcohol, hit an auto rickshaw on Monday night at 11:30 PM injuring the occupants, though no one was seriously injured.

Police have slapped three cases against the executive identified as Samrat Chadha, revealed CK Baba, deputy commissioner of police, traffic (east).

Autoriockshaw driver Sudhamohan told media that the BMW tried to overtake him from the wrong side and rammed his vehicle. There was also a woman occupant in the car which sped away.

Cases under IPC sections 337 (causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others ) and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) and section 185 of the Motor Vehicle Act (driving by a drunken person or by a person under the influence of drugs) were registered against Chadha.
