BookMyShow Partners with Uber, Short-term Bonhomie?

BookMyShow, India’s online entertainment ticketing firm, has partnered with Uber, the smartphone app-based taxi-ride provider, to jointly offer movie enthusiasts to book an Uber taxi ride when they buy their movie tickets.

Depending upon the time to their movie show, the users will either get an option to ‘Ride Now’ or to set a reminder to book an Uber for later, said a release. Once the user has made their selection to ride in an Uber, they will be directed to the Uber app on the device.

However, there is no extra discount nor any added charges. Those who prefer Uber can choose to go by taxi once they book their cinema tickets. The new service is currently available only on Android app versions and will be available on Google’s Play Store soon.

Marzdi Kalianiwala, VP- Business Intelligence & Marketing, BookMyShow said, “Customers are the reason we exist and we’re constantly enhancing our offerings to ensure they are delighted every time they book through BookMyShow.”

BookMyShow is now available in over 350 towns and cities across India, with a reach of 14 million users online and its investors include Ambani-owned Network 18, Accel Partners and SAIF Partners and others.
