The twice cancelled exam and re-exam of chemistry paper in Karnataka Pre-University Board exam this year was finally held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 allover the state without any leaks or any disruptions. It was originally scheduled for March 21 and cancelled after leak of the question paper became known to the authorities.
Ironic but even the re-exam to be held on March 31 by the Department of Pre-University Education (DPUE) was leaaked and the test was again cancelled to be held today with utmost care by the authorities to see that no leaks happpened or at least not reported.
About 1.74 lakh students took the II Pre-University (PU) Chemistry re-exam today in 968 centres. The issue rocked the state assembly and parents who resorted to protests.
The government has suspended 40 officials of Department of Pre-University Education (PUE), including Joint Director (Examination) K N Ranganath, while the medical education minister’s own personal assistant was also allegedly involved in the leak scam and arrested.
